2019年3月4日

Following the seminar on China-Cuba cooperation on “Belt and Road” Initiative in January, CCG was again engaged in the discussion with the visiting delegation from the Cuban embassy in China led by Ambassador Miguel Ángel Ramírez Ramos on Feb. 25.

CCG President Dr. Wang introduced the effort and achievement CCG has made in promoting international exchange and public diplomacy and expressed his hope to strengthen communication with Cuban think tanks to co-host seminars in the Caribbean region that promote the understanding and support to the “Belt and Road” Initiative.

In his speech, Ambassador Ramos noted that Cuba should learn more from China’s experience in globalization and improve its business environment for foreign investors. Although Cuba has been involved in the “Belt and Road” Initiative, he believes that it still needs to be discussed how Cuba can leverage the Initiative to attract more foreign investors and tourists.

In addition, other members of the delegation including General Consul in Shanghai Lisbet Quesada Luna also shared their perspectives and expectation on the China-Cuba cooperation.
