The idea of a ’brain drain’ is one that has been put forward to describe the situation of many countries over recent years, as talented individuals choose to leave their home country for an extended period of time, or even for good. China is one country which has paid great attention to this phenomenon, particularly in its medical sector. But the picture experts are painting may be less clear-cut than you’d think.


So is China, in particular its medical sector, facing a ’brain drain’ problem? What are the reasons for this? And what can be done to address it?
