Bannon departs from White House but he never leaves

The discussion included the state of American politics after a deadly confrontation over the removal of a Confederate monument in Charlottesville, Virginia and the impact of advisor Steve Bannon’s departure from the White House and its impact on US politics and on China.
What happened in Charlottesville is symptomatic of a larger malaise and that racism has been the Frankenstein’s Monster that has refused to die since the very inception of the United States. There are a lot of angry people in the US and that Trump has enabled them by not condemning neo-Nazis, white supremacists, Ku Klux Klan members and various alt-right supporters.
Regarding the Confederate monuments, there were no clear answers and that a small majority of Americans prefer that the statues remain. Perhaps the best solution was to move them away from government property to places such as universities where they could be put into the proper historical context with a balanced presentation that negates them as mere symbols of hate.
As for the Steve Bannon’s departure which wouldn’t help America or China as it was merely a “change of venue” and Bannon would continue to push his extreme right-wing agenda and would even threaten Trump with impeachment if he were unable to carry out Bannon’s warped worldview. Nonetheless, President Trump would continue to use Bannon as a source of ideas and a sounding board for advice and thus Steve Bannon would continue to play his role out of White House.
