Um, Do you think there is an awareness issue with the public? Are people getting used to the idea of wearing masks(您认为公众是否存在意识问题? 全球化智库高级研究员Andy Mok(莫天安):So this question of whether mask should be worn or not is a very interesting one. And it has many facets to it. So clearly the consensus is changing. So in asia, for various reasons, wearing a mask is seen almost as a social norm. So it’s hard to see anywhere. I’ve been in airports around asia, shopping centers, office buildings. It’s very rare to see anybody not wearing a mask. In the US, it’s almost the opposite. And in fact, people that wear mask are sometimes stigmatized, maybe even directly criticized or sometimes even physically attacked for where are the mask?(在亚洲,由于种种原因,戴口罩几乎被视为一种社会规范。 And there are different reasons behind this. But I think the first step is official government guidance. We can see here that still that the federal government has not clearly come out one way or the other. We think the latest headlines are that the white house where the federal government is considering advising people to wear mask. Now, to me this is a little bit . And even with a seemingly simple decision, it seems like the US is struggling with a view of what to do.(这背后有不同的原因。 So the majority of the population in certain countries just don’t seem to care as much. They don’t care about wearing masks and they think it’s no big deal. Right? Even president trump comments such as these. But in east asia, people have a much better attitude about mask. Wary about complying with travel restrictions and people more understanding the government’s policies.(一些国家的大多数人似乎并不那么在乎这个病毒。 Harvey Dzodin:In 1992, there was a famous book, co manner of Mars, and women are from Venus. I’m mentioning that because we have the same distinctions between Asian cultures and let’s say American or some western cultures in the your region of the world. You’re a confusion or oriented societies. You have a great respect for authority for leadership and so on. You’ve had for thousands of years in America, we’re more typified by our American president of hundred and 20 years ago theater, roosevelt, who was called a rugged individualist. Alistair Michie:those Asian countries with this confusion culture, people are much more open to accepting that they have to act together to meet a common crisis. And in addition, they are much more open to taking in an emergency situation, very stringent directives from their government that does not happen in europe and North America, which I think explains why europe and North America and the high income countries have been much slower to react to this crisis than what has happened in Asia and China.the eu countries are not acting in cohesion at the moment. It’s tilly appealed for help. None of the other EU countries would support it.That is the kind of change in mindset of open minus humanitarian approach is crucial if this pandemic is going to be successfully conquered by the world.(那些拥有儒家文化的亚洲国家,人们更愿意接受他们必须一起行动来应对共同的危机。
